1. Call to Order and Welcome. Joe O’Brien called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The Agenda was adopted as presented
2. Review and approval of minutes of previous meeting(s). Minutes from the March meeting were approved.
Tanner asked if SOS tested the overflow pipe. Joe did not believe they had. He will have Brian check.
3. Review and approval of financial statements. The financial reports for March were approved.
4. Customer Comments.
Steve talked with Lee Dumas. Lee is numbering the fire hydrants for the Fire Department. Steve asked if we should number them also. It was agreed that they should be numbered and painted. Steve will ask Lee to send him info to match the numbers.
Patricia Gray asked for her water to be shut off. FEMA is buying the property and the Town is taking over. Brian shut the water off today. The house will be demolished and can only be used as open space. The shut off is by the lilac bushes before the house. Joe will check with the Town for landscaping to dig up the line and cap it. The town now owns the line and we can require them to cap it. Joe will talk with Brad Holden.
Joe spoke to the plumber at 1 Park Street. He wanted clarification to put in meter. Joe met him with a new meter. The one there was fine, but the junction loop couples needed to be replaced. Joe gave him a new junction for the meter. It was a copper service line with galvanized fittings up to meter that the plumber wanted changed.
5. Operations Report.
Test Results and Testing.
Bacteria results negative.
Fluoride results within tolerance.
Routine testing and operations.
There were few erratic readings with the Hach analyzer last month.
Tanner asked if the control building generator was leaking into the engine itself. Joe will ask Brian if he noticed anything. Steve didn’t notice anything when he was there.
6. Old Business.
A. Joe talked with SOS regarding the hydrant replacement at 385 Vermont Route 15. SOS has all the specs and will coordinate with John Leo.
B. Champlin will install the transducer on April 14.
D. Steve said some gravel should be put in for storage box to land on and timbers put down. The site located has 6” or 8” difference in elevation. About ten yards of gravel would be needed. Tanner said could put some 8”-10” sleepers on top and roll off. Steve will make a ramp. Steve will get in touch with Chris Wells to haul some gravel.
Steve asked how long the wand metal detector goes down. It is in the shed, but they don’t know how far it goes. It is $1,200.00 for one that goes down 1,800 feet.
E. The storage building site visit will be May 6 at 6:00 before the regular meeting.
F. Joe has not heard anything on the lead copper follow up.
G. Nothing has started on the Mill Development.
7. New Business.
A. The United Church engineer for Harvest Crossing wanted to know who to communicate with regarding the pressure range by Route 15. The hydrant by the store was tested at 1300 gallons per minute by O’Leary Burke about five years ago. They have the data, but would not give it to Hamlin.
B. For the sanitary survey, Steve will ask Brian for what we have for O&M manuals. Joe will check with Marc also. Can SOS come in and do? Joe talked with Lane at SOS for 70 Maple Ridge. We will install a pressure tank and apply for a waiver for the other two houses on Maple Ridge. Lane asked if they have pressure tanks and no one does. When Joe checked before, they said no. For the storage overflow, SOS will come and look at off the Maple Ridge tank. Joe will communicate that we had inspections on all tanks. Replies are needed by August 25, 2025 and January 1, 2026. Joe responded to the ones for March 27.
8. Next Regular Meeting. Next regular meeting May 6, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
9. Review and Approve Bills. Bills were reviewed and approved.
Adjournment. The regular meeting was adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
