1.   Call to Order and Welcome.  Joe O’Brien called the meeting to order at 5:59 p.m.  The Agenda was adopted as presented.

2.   Review and approval of minutes of previous meeting(s).  Minutes from the June meeting were approved.

3.   Review and approval of financial statements.  The financial reports for June were approved.

4.   Customer Comments.  Joe and Nancy heard from some of the customers that received delinquent notices.

Tracy Martin called Steve and said that what Joe gave them didn’t work.  Steve looked in the building and didn’t find any gaskets.  He found something off an old meter, which they installed.  There were no leaks and the water was flowing.  The wires were not connected, so the meter will not read.

Tim Ward got Steve to shut off the water to their house on Barrett Lane.  Steve said it was hard to find, down by the bridge in a mud pit.  The tool Peter had given Steve didn’t turn the valve.  Marc got a tool that they used to turn it off.  The bulb valve broke in the house.  Steve thought the blow off valve was the shut off valve.  Steve suggested that the valve be relocated further up so it is easier to get to.

5.   Operations Report.

Test Results and Testing.

Bacteria results negative.

Fluoride results within tolerance.

Routine testing and operations.

Steve suggested getting a pressure washer with a rod that extends to get to those hard to reach places.  He said you could use a 55 gallon barrel with a 30’ garden hose with the washer.  Joe said Marc had a coil of tube.  Steve said it would cost around $1,200.00 total for a gas powered one.  Tanner said to run it periodically.  Steve will e-mail the list of items before the next meeting.

Joe spoke with Marguerite Walsh last Tuesday at 4 Depot Street.  She said she had air in her line.  Joe told her to run the water awhile and it still continued.  He talked to her again Friday and told her to get a plumber.  Monday, Ben Butler, a plumber, told Joe you could run a half gallon of water and then get air.  There is nothing in the house doing it.  Joe told him to flush longer.  Ben was going to run it 15/20 minutes.  There hasn’t been anything done in the District that would have caused it.  The water is clear and Ben said there is no leak.  Ben is going to fit her in and we will pay for it.  He detached the whole house system, coming from our line.  Tanner asked if there is a pin hole in the black plastic that is causing it.

6.   Old Business.

A.  Nothing new on the Mill Development.

B.  The Church has approval.

C.  Hydrant replacement hopefully in fall.

7.   New Business.

  1.  Maple Ridge cistern transducer replacement was done by Champlin.  The transducer hangs about 6” from the bottom of the tank.  It looks like a wand.  The graph is now different.  The perimeter may be set different that the original transducer.

B.  22 people responded to the service line inventory.  It meets the standard that the Government wants.  Our system is free of lead.  Joe has to print the approval page, sign and send.  A motion was made for Joe to sign for replacement if needed.  The motion was approved.

C.  For summer repairs, we should look at the valve shut offs and shut off replacement on Park Street.  Inventory of how old the shut off valves are?  Safety equipment to be purchased.

D.  Joe put a notice in Front Porch Forum that the readings will be done July 3.  Andy is doing them.

We received an allocation request for 22 Harvest Run.  They are waiting for environmental approval.  Joe told them to apply for approval to hook up.  John Leo is doing the excavation work.  Joe asked if they were familiar with tapping into the water system and the woman said yes.  Joe will check with them.  Joe said they could start the excavation, but need to pay the $4,000.00 before we will turn the water on.  A motion was made on the allocation request.  The motion was approved.

8. Next Regular Meeting.  Next regular meeting August 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

9. Review and Approve Bills.  Bills were reviewed and approved.

Adjournment.  The regular meeting was adjourned at 6:56 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Benson, Clerk/Treasurer
