1.   Call to Order and Welcome.  Joe O’Brien called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. to adopt the Agenda.  The Agenda was adopted.

 

2.   Review and approval of minutes of previous meeting(s).  Minutes from the July meeting were approved. 

 

3.   Review and approval of financial statements.  The financial reports for July were approved.

 

4.   Customer Comments.  Kirk had a couple boil water notice calls.

 

5.   Correspondence.  Booklets.

 

6.   Operations Report.

 

Operator’s Report.

  1. Water usage.  ________ gal/day
  2. Test Results and Testing.

Bacteria results negative.

Fluoride results within tolerance.

 

7.   Repairs, Maintenance, and Connections.

Kirk said there have been problems with the chlorine pump.  He put in the spare pump and it is working okay.  He will need to retest and sample the well.  Andy does testing.  Kirk has ordered a new pump, which will take three weeks.  Joe and Kirk did talk last week and Joe told him to get a new one.

Kirk said there have been problems with the generator.  John has been topping it off with coolant.  Reliant found a leak in the gasket.  It was throwing off high RPMs.  Kirk is waiting to hear back.

Kirk said we are getting low on propane.  It is about 30%.  We should top off before winter.  It only runs the generator.  Kirk said a propane heater would be better instead of an electric one.

Kirk said the monthly sample was late.  Andy was on vacation.

Joe how John was doing.  Kirk said he is still doing daily stuff.  He has applied for a water job with the Town of Middlebury and said we may have to find a replacement at some point.

8.   Old Business.

A.  No update.

B.  Nothing new on United Church.

C.  None.

D.  Wells and pump are working well.

E.  Joe asked to have them weed whack around the Maple Ridge tank.  Kirk said they are doing a good job with the mowing.

F.   The hydrants will be flushed on August 13.  Kirk will put in Front Porch Forum.  He said there is still air on Farmhouse Road and Brookbend.

Steve said the beaver dam is still there.  The water was very low.  He will check again.

9.   New Business. 

A.  Joe hasn’t heard anything on the recovery grant.  He did learn that every town in Vermont has applied.

B.  Hydrant project is done.

C.  Nothing new on sidewalk construction.

D.  Nothing on Park Street drainage relocation since Kirk told Brad we were not doing it.

E.  Kirk said the tank inspection is the second week of September for all tanks.  The little tank will be virtual and the big tanks will have a diver.

There was an inquiry from the interim zoning administrator in Jericho about a sewer system in the Flats area.  Jericho is interested.  Kirk said it would take about 10 years with all the planning, etc.

10. Next Regular Meeting.  Next regular meeting September 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

11. Review and Approve Bills.  Bills were reviewed and approved.

Adjournment.  The regular meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
