President Harold Sargent called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The first part of the meeting was held in executive session, on a motion by Peter Mitchell, to interview two applicants for the meter reader job. The two applicants were Janet Boardman Peryea and Michael Boyden. The Board came out of executive session on a motion of Kenneth Crimmins. The Board decided to offer the meter reader position to Janet Peryea provided she would not take her children onto the customers' property for insurance reasons. Harold is to speak to Janet about this matter and, if assured it will not occur, the offer will be made for the position. If not acceptable to Mrs. Peryea, the job will be offered to the other candidate, Michael Boyden.
Jeff MacDonald from Webster-Martin appeared, by request, to discuss the Board's possible construction of 1,000 feet of 8 inch D.I. water pipe on Poker Hill Road this summer. This would replace some undersized pipe that serves seven homes. Marc Maheux, operator, was present for this portion of the meeting.
The Board asked its engineer (Jeff MacDonald) to prepare a cost estimate and engineering contract for the Board's next meeting so it can decide if the project would be done this summer. The Board voted to hold its April meeting on Wednesday evening, April 8th to make it possible for all three board members to be present for this important meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Harold E. Sargent, President
