Jericho Underhill Water District Underhill, VT

July 1988 minutes

all minutes are in draft form

The monthly meeting of the Jericho Underhill Water District was held on July 5, 1988. President David Damkot called the meeting to order at 8:35 p.m. Those present were David, Trustees Harold Sargent and Doug Keith, Clerk Sue Carter and Operator Marc Maheux.

The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and accepted. The financial report was reviewed and accepted.

Operator's Report: Last week a fuse blew at the pump house in the telemetry system giving false readings about the amount of water in the tank. It was saying there was water in the tank when in fact the tank was close to empty. On Sunday, July 3, Marc put Villeneuve's water system on line and the tank was full to overflowing.

Marc suggested the Board not do any repair work on the telemetry system since the new system will soon be in the works and whenever Fisher Porter comes it is very expensive. The present telemetry system is functional and working now.

We are presently pumping from 115 to 120 thousand gallons a day. We should be pumping around 70 thousand gallons a day.

Old Business: Lonnie Bolio has requested that the Board read into the minutes that they received an As-Built Water System plan for the 7 lots in Wonderhill Estates. It is so noted.

The Water District purchased an additional irregular shaped piece of land extending the 30' right-of-way from Mary Bushnell for $10.00. It has been purchased and recorded with the Town.

The Hudsons have still not signed any papers giving the District a right-of-way.

Doug has spoken to the Tratnacks, Harnoises, Blairs and Bleakleys on Palmer Lane about putting the new pipe on the other side of the road. The Blairs did not particularly want to put it on that side because they have just black topped their driveway. The others were agreeable. Mr. Bleakley still will not sign the deed as written.

Doug has spoken with Rober and he will readjust his reading schedule to fit Mr. Bushey in before 7:30 p.m.

David Langlois has not replaced his piping but has the pipe to do so.

The hydrant that Harold had reported on at a previous meeting will be turned on by Harold to see if there is a leak. He will also check the next hydrant up on Steam Mill Road.

New Business: Sue will write a note to Villeneuve’s to thank them for the use of their water.

Should the shed be painted? Harold will look into finding someone for this job. The Board agreed to pay $4.00 an hour and not to exceed $180.00 plus material.

Harold spoke with Buel Metcalf about seeding the area around his home and Mrs. Towne's. Buel said Gary Lunderville is to do the work. Harold will get in touch with Gary.

Bill were reviewed and signed.

The meeting adjourned at 11:15.
