The monthly meeting of the Jericho Underhill Water District was called to order at 7:10 On September 15, 1986.
Those present were: David Damkot, Harold Sargent, Marc Maheux, Sue Carter, Karl Riemer and Lonnie Polio.
Old Business: A final form regarding the Gluck water request has not been received from Mr. Schmucker. David will follow un on this matter.
David will have Bob Greenia at the October meeting with a report from his committee.
Lonnie asked if a 10' right away in their development was enough to comply with the Water Boards wishes. Their answer was yes. Marc suggested they put in a magnetic tape to help the Board locate pipes when a problem arises.
Marc said that Mr. Wilbur will be the spokesperson to speak at informational meetings to inform the public of the proposal to drill and to explain the reasons for a bond article at the annual meeting. The bond would be to develop a well at the Bushnell site, to purchase the property from Mary Bushnell, and construction cost incurred and to improve the present system.
It was also suggested that rate changes and connections should be addressed at the annual meeting.
Marc will communicate with Webster Martin to be sure someone is at the October meeting from their concern to present their thoughts on system improvements, closing some of the dead end Loops and phasing in a project.
Marc reported he repaired a leak at the Baileys and replaced the curb stop. Don McClellan's line has been replaced.
A discussion took place on whether the Fire Department should be paying some sort of payment for the water they use. Does the Board charge the non-user a fee for fire protection? Do they use District water at a fire? Should the Towns be charged an amount for water used as fire Protection? There were no answers.
