Minutes of Annual Meeting 1979
The annual meeting of the Jericho—Underhill Water District was held in the Jeri—Hill Senior Center on Rte. 15 in Underhill Flats, Vt., on Wednesday, October 10, 1979 at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Alan Morse, President. Minutes of the previous meeting, were read and accepted. The financial reports for the year were distributed to those present.
ACTION ON ARTICLE 1 OF THE WARNING:
On motion duly made and seconded, Alan Morse was elected moderator for one year.
ACTION ON ARTICLE 2:
On motion duly made and seconded, Gerry Ackley was elected clerk for one year.
ACTION ON ARTICLE 3:
Alan Morse reported for the officers as follows: Ten scheduled Trustee Meetings were held since the last annual meeting, along with numerous impromptu gatherings. Work done since the last annual meeting is as follows: A stock fence was constructed at the pump house. Water lines were extended across Raceway Brook to Allendorf Development. The Poker Hill water main was replaced and extended. Boundaries of the Water District were plotted on an aerial photo at the request of the Town Planning Commission. The well field was evaluated by D. L. Mahu Co. The well field was redeveloped for improved water volume. The well, field was cleared of brush. The well beams at the well field were repaired. Gerry Ackley was appointed clerk to replace Kaye Moore who moved. The well field was surveyed for mapping of the property lines. Storage space was rented from the United Church of Underhill. There were five new connections to the water system. Regarding future planning we will re—establish the well to increase water yield, 34,000 est.).
We plan to paint the inside of the storage tank ($6,000 quote).
ACTION ON ARTICLE 4:
On motion duly made and seconded, clerk was voted a salary of $600.00 for one year
ACTION ON ARTICLE 5:
On motion duly made and seconded, Bob Greenia was elected Trustee three years.
ACTION ON ARTICLE 6:
On motion duly made and seconded, it was agreed that Mrs. Ackley would check with the present auditors to see if they would be willing to audit for one more year. The present auditors are Douglas Keith, Nancy Craig and Peg Sargent.

Water samples were not taken during June and July, however the samples taken subsequently showed 0 bacteria. Notices will be sent out with the next billing to notify all those in the Water District.
Raising the water rates was discussed extensively. Several different rate plans were worked up and motion was duly made and seconded to accept plan # 4. It was decided that a note to subscribers be sent with the October billing.
After a close look at the budget, it was decided that the tank should not be painted this winter. It was also decided to look over the old meters and clean those usable ones.
The meeting was then adjourned as there was no other business.
